Chelsea GK signing over? Sanchez to wear number one?

Robert Sanchez has inherited Kepa’s number one shirt.

‘Sanchez has been given the number 1, the same number he wore at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he played before joining Chelsea,’ the club confirmed on its official website on Sunday (ET).

Sanchez is a Spanish keeper who spent his youth career at Brighton. He has an excellent build-up from the back, a good kick that allows him to play long balls to players in the mid to long range, and his height and long limbs allow him to win aerial balls.

A consistent starter for Brighton, he was at his best under Graham Potter, but a string of mistakes saw him falter last season and he eventually lost his place to Jason Steele under Conte, leading to his move to Chelsea. 안전놀이터

I was surprised that Chelsea brought him in for £25 million, which is quite expensive for a backup keeper, but there was a reason for that. Kepa was the first-choice keeper and had offers from Munich and Real, with Kepa actively appealing to go to Real.

Eventually, Kepa left and Sanchez started the first leg of the Premier League tie against Liverpool. He performed well, but Chelsea were looking for a first-choice goalkeeper to replace Kepa. However, Chelsea didn’t have a lot of options, and Diogo Costa was their first choice, but his €70 million price tag put them off.

Eventually, Sanchez inherited the number one spot, and for now, it’s Sanchez and number two Marcus Bettinelli in goal for Chelsea.
