K League 2 Gimpo ‘jumps to second place’ with 2-0 win over Chunan

Professional soccer’s K League 2 Gimpo FC has jumped to second place after beating ‘last place’ Cheonan City FC.

Gimpo defeated Cheonan 2-0 on Thursday in the 26th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 at Cheonan Stadium.

With their second straight win, Gimpo (42 points) jumped to second place, closing in on leaders Gimcheon Commerce (45 points), who have played one game less. Meanwhile, “last place” Cheonan fell to a third straight defeat.

After a scoreless first half, Gimpo broke through with a goal from Lewis in the third minute of the second half, followed by another from Jang Yun-ho in the 11th minute to put Cheonan away.

Earlier in the day, Bucheon FC defeated Gyeongnam FC 2-0 to end a run of four games without a win (two draws) and secure their first win in five matches. 꽁머니사이트

Lupeta’s first goal in the 40th minute gave Bucheon the lead, and Lee Jung-bin’s 45th-minute strike sealed the victory.

With 38 points, Bucheon remains in sixth place, while Gyeongnam (41 points) drops to third after losing ground to Gimpo.
